How To Cure Lawn Fungus

Even the healthiest lawns can at some point get lawn fungus. There are many different types of fungus in lawns and in this article we’ll be going through a few things that can help you when trying to learn how to cure lawn fungus.

Most of the different types of lawn fungus affect the grass in areas that are shady and moist because this is the conditions that they thrive in. Once you realise that you have some fungus on your lawn you need to make sure that you get rid of it as soon as possible as the longer you leave it the more likely it is to spread around the lawn. You definitely don’t want this to happen as in some cases a lawn fungus can spread and destroy a lawn.

Once you know you’ve found one of the many possible types of fungus on lawn then you need to work out which type it is. Usually you’ll be able to tell which type if is by the discolouration of the grass in that area. Different types have different discolorations. It’s important to know which of the lawn fungus types you have so that you can make sure you use the right treatment.

Once you know which type of lawn fungus you have you should go to your local garden centre or lawn expert and asks them for the best treatment for that specific type. If you can’t work out which kind of fungus you have then it is probably a good idea to ask a friend or family member who is knowledgeable in this area to do it for you to be on the save side.

When you have the type of fungicide for treating your lawn make sure that you use it and then reduce the amount of water you give the soil in the area of the fungus. This will help to make the soil dry up a bit. Once you’ve done that make sure you apply some sort of fertilizer and then cut the grass. When you first cut the grass make sure you do it a bit higher than usual.
